Shipping Policy

Thank you for choosing to purchase physical, hardcopy literature from Rainlight Books! The following terms outline our Shipping Policy. Note that these terms only apply to physical products and do not apply to digital softcopy formats (PDF, EPUB) since those are delivered instantly to your account dashboard.

1. Order Processing Time

All physical orders are processed within 2 to 4 business days (excluding weekends and statutory holidays in Sri Lanka) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped, complete with a tracking number (if available for your region).

If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. If there is going to be a significant delay in the shipment of your order, we will contact you via email.

2. Shipping Rates and Estimates

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and clearly displayed at checkout before you submit your payment. Our shipping calculations are dynamically based on the specific total weight (in kilograms) of the hardcopy books in your cart and the destination country.

  • Base Fees: Certain regions have a flat base shipping fee for the first kilogram.
  • Additional Weight: Added book weight beyond the first kilogram will incrementally increase the shipping cost based on the country's per-KG rate.

Delivery delays can occasionally occur due to extreme weather or service interruptions at the carrier level, which are beyond our control.

3. International Shipping

We are thrilled to offer shipping to select international destinations around the globe. When purchasing internationally, please remember that you, the customer, are the importer of record.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Rainlight Books is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer. If you choose not to pay customs duties and the package is returned to us, we will refund the cost of the book minus the shipping fees and return-shipping penalties.

4. Undeliverable Packages & Wrong Addresses

Please double-check your shipping address during checkout! We are not responsible for packages that are lost or returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we can reship it to you, but you will be responsible for the secondary shipping costs.
